Once a 15-member chorus with pipes and girth to rival the Bulgarian women's choirs, this formerly traditionalist Finnish chorale slimmed to a four-woman brat-pack to deliver a bracing disc of speed-folk. Reportedly, one in every hundred people in Finland bought a copy when it was released in 1990. The nightmarish joy of bright, unison singing, and merry-go-round tempos pays off in surprising Finno-Ugric lyrics.
