I never saw it coming. One day, I was dreaming of the glories and rewards of gainful employment, and the next, I was living in a warren of identical cubes.

I have broken out of the realm of sameness. My cube is a haven of customized comfort. My bottom drawer is filled with CDs to ease my pain. My top drawer has nibbles from a thousand lands to transport my tongue. From my ergonomic perch, I look out on a vista of humorous commentaries on my life as a drone, and the smiling faces of loved ones.
